Dimiter
Dimiter - Founder and CEO

A geographer and former mountain guide and ski-instructor Dimo founded Penguin Travel in Copenhagen in 1989. Having visited over 150 countries he is a member of the Danish Travellers Club (De Berejstes Klub) and FRGS (Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society). Dimo still leads most of the groups to new destinations. He takes care of all equestrian and cycling programmes in Bulgaria.

Lubomir
Lyubomir - Horseriding Guide

Super Lubo - born in November 1988, worked for the company three and a half years. Studied tourism in New Bulgarian University. Lives in a small village in the Rhodope Mountains, near Plovdiv. Join the firm as a guide-horseback riding and biking.

Milena
Milena - Travel Coordinator and Tour Leader, Cultural tours

Milena was born in 1988 in Sofia, Bulgaria. She graduated from the National Art Academy and completed her PhD in 2017. With a rich background in Art History, Milena is always eager to share insights about the art, cultural influences, and history of every place you visit with her. A passionate solo traveler, Milena’s curiosity and love for connecting with local communities have shaped her journeys around the world. Her deep fascination with the Middle East led her to start learning Arabic after falling in love with Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon. In her spare time, Milena creates children’s books and takes part in various literary events and exhibitions, representing her publishing house and creative side hustle.

Georgi
Georgi – Travel Coordinator and Tour Leader, Cultural Tours (Central Asia, the Caucasus, and the Balkans)

Born in 1996, Georgi got his bachelor degree in tourism from Sofia Universtiy “ St.Kliment Ohridski” in Sofia, Bulgaria in 2019. Working in the company since 2022 he travelled some of our most famous destinations, such as Central Asia, Caucas and the Balkans. He started job in the company in the outgoing department, and nowadays he is responsible for our Best seller tours, inspired by his passion about adventurous and cultural tourism. Over the last 2 years Georgi developed his guiding skills, so now he is more than happy to share the experience, the knowledge and the culture about the country and destinations visited. His patience and sense of humor will make you feel like you are travelling more with a friend, than with a tour leader itself.

Margarita
Margarita – Travel Coordinator and Tour Leader, Bulgaria Active and Cultural department

For Margarita, tourism is more than just a profession - it’s part of her family heritage. Her passion for the industry led her to pursue a degree in Tourism Management at NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences, where she built a strong foundation in the field. She continues to deepen her expertise through ongoing master’s studies. At Penguin Travel, Margarita is in charge of our Bulgaria Active and Cultural department. She plays a key role in refining our itineraries, incorporating the latest trends and concepts in tourism, and ensuring that our guests in Bulgaria enjoy authentic, high-quality travel experiences. Her dedication and innovative approach help keep our tours fresh, meaningful, and memorable.

Angelina
Angelina – Travel Coordinator & Tour Leader, Danish Department

Angelina has a deep passion for nature and living a healthy lifestyle, and these interests strongly influence both her personal life and travel philosophy. One of her most memorable experiences was a trip to Ethiopia, which left a lasting impact on her love for exploring new cultures. In addition to her role in customer support, Angelina leads tours across the Balkans and the Caucasus. Her calm, thoughtful approach ensures that every traveler enjoys a memorable and meaningful experience. Having lived in Denmark, she is an integral part of our Danish department, working closely with Scandinavian guests to ensure they feel fully supported throughout their journey. Her dedication to customer support, combined with her attention to detail, ensures that every trip is well-prepared and runs smoothly from start to finish.

Nesi
Nesi - Travel Coordinator, Cultural tours

Nesi is passionate about designing and coordinating trips to some of the world’s most remote and culturally rich destinations. Her focus lies in regions like the Middle East and West Africa, where she works to create meaningful, well-organized itineraries that offer a deep dive into local traditions, history, and everyday life. Driven by a fascination with off-the-beaten-path travel, she is especially drawn to remote cultures and dramatic landscapes - places that challenge expectations and leave lasting impressions. One of her most memorable journeys was to Tassili n’Ajjer in Algeria, a surreal desert plateau filled with prehistoric rock art and otherworldly scenery.

Pencho
Pencho – Birdwatching Guide

A naturalist by nature, Pencho is a member of the Bulgarian Society for Protection of Birds. As a researcher in animal breeding he implements the initiatives of the Society for preservation and restoration of habitats into farming on regional scale. He is a birder with good insight into bird behavior and identification, well acquainted with the Bulgarian open country and ornithologically interesting spots. Pencho joined Penguin Travel in 2010 and he loves touring – being in touch with nature and meeting people of the ilk. An enthusiastic bird picker and a nice company – your guiding bird and fellow.
